We are pround to report that, as of May 2008, 8 of the 12 student photographers are enrolled in secondary school (four did not pass the Primary Leaving Exam) thanks to Photovoice donations from friends and family. We would like to help them finish all six years of secondary school.

Your support for secondary school education would be greatly appreciated. Currently, most students in northern Uganda do not make the transition to secondary school. According to the 2006 Uganda Demographic and Health Survey (p. 60), only 3.2% of the secondary school-aged youth in the war-affected region were attending school.

Tuition fees range from $18 to $88 (USD) per term. Students also have additional costs for school uniforms and materials each year - roughly $175 (USD) for all six years. So the total costs for secondary education can range from about $500 to $1760 per student (plus boarding fees for students who attend school away from home).

11"x14" Hand-Varnished Prints on Stretched Canvas

We are working with a great printer in Chapel Hill, NC to produce really stunning 11" x 14" prints on stretched canvas. Each print is hand-varnished and the wood frame comes ready to hang.

These archival prints (up to 100 years!) will look great in your home or office. Each order comes with a card (banner at top) with the photographer's picture.

The prints cost $70 to produce and ship to your door. We are asking for a standard donation of $25 to pay school fees for the student photographers.

We do not make any profit from these donations. All of the money for printing and shipping goes to the printer. All of the donation goes to the students.

If you would like to support the students without the cost of the canvas prints, please think about donating $10 or more. As a way of saying thanks, we will send you an 8" x 10" print processed at a digital printing center like Wal-Mart or Kodak for any donation of $10 or more ($5 of donation used to print and ship the image).
